Team Obsidian!

We finally got to go on a bike ride yesterday!! ….it nearly killed me. #outofshape. I’m sure by the middle of summer my husband will have me whooped into shape. I also finally got a helmet and I went with this Team Obsidian one

I love that it has an adjustable knob on the back so I can adjust quickly based on my hair or if someone else needs to use it! I also love that there is padding on the strap so it makes it quite comfortable. We didn’t get very far but we did take our daughter to the park and she loved every second of it.

The helmet itself is very breathable so I didn’t overheat and it has an awesome visor piece that helps with sun glare. It’s also extremely lightweight which really helped me out because I was lugging Munchkin in the carrier the whole way. Hopefully I'll get used to toting that carrier around soon because that was difficult! At least for me!

Hoppy Easter!!

FINALLY! We had absolutely gorgeous weather today. We had an amazing Easter with our little Noodle-pants. I loved that we were able to spend time outside and soak up some vitamin D! I am also so happy with this imate phone mount.
http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Bicycle-Motorcycle-Handlebar-Adjustable/dp/B0176806QQ/ref=sr_1_28?ie=UTF8&qid=1456214583&sr=8-28&keywords=bike+mount
I have been looking for something to take with us on our bike rides to hold my phone so I can listen to music and to keep it with us as our biking clothes don’t have pockets. This is even more than that! I love that I can also attach it to our stroller as well because not only do we take our daughter on a lot of bike rides but also on a lot of walks. This would also be perfect for our trips to the zoo and etc! The mount is very easy to attach and holds your phone very tight and securely. I don’t need to worry about it slipping or losing grip if we go over a few bumps. Aside from the music aspect, I love having my phone accessible for the gps feature. I can easily follow a map on the screen for some new adventures or to search for some geocaches! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who could use it. I don’t have a picture of my phone in it as I use my phone for most of my photos so here is a stock photo so you can see the layout. I really enjoy it!

Bathroom Remodel!

I have been struggling with storage since we have redone our bathroom. Here’s our updated picture!

I am in love. It feels a lot more open in there and not a dark dungeon of hatred. Le sigh.

Anyway, our vanity now is smaller and does not have quite the storage that the previous one did. Enter this awesome Bath Toy Organizer byBath Fun Time. Plus it came with some toys of it’s own! It hangs flush against the wall and keeps all of my daughters toys contained within so they aren’t strewn about the bathroom. It’s mesh pocket is perfect for letting all those little things drain after a tub time of fun.

The size is amazing. You can fit so much stuff in there and I love that it came with a few hooks to hold our sponges (which it also came with!) Now I think I’m going to cut out some vinyl for one of those bathroom rules signs or something! What kind of décor do you have in your bathroom?

Bathroom Update!

So we’re in the process of redoing our bathroom so I’ve been on pinterest like crazy lately. We aren’t doing a full remodel but we’re painting and changing out the vanity and some fixtures. I figured I’d share a little inspiration from Pinterest in case anyone else is trying to do a little updating in their homes! I will be sure to update some before and afters once we are all done!

Stampin Up Paper Pumpkin Alternatives!

How many of you are crafters??

Recently I went on a crafting weekend and I took along my Stampin Up Paper Pumpkins. Here are some card ideas I made using one of the kits. I love being able to put my own spin on these things and honestly a lot of the cards you could make using a lot of things that you probably already own. I have so many craft materials it's ridiculous and it's definitely time I start using them all. I'm really hoping to do at least one craft a week and focus on all those pesky ones I've started and never finished!

So what have you made recently? Share and inspire us!

Let's Play!

With spring (finally!) upon us I have been looking for some fun activities for little one and I to enjoy outside and out and about. Here’s some ideas that I’ve found and I’d love input from you as well! What do you love to do with little one when things get a little boring around the house??

There is of course the normal visit to the zoo, the park, the farm, take a walk, etc. but here’s some other ideas I’ve found!

1)      Geocaching! I love going out and geocaching with my little one. She might not fully get it yet but it is fun to wander around outside with her while getting good exercise and fresh air!
2)      Scavenger Hunt! Take a camera with you and take pictures of things you find. Here’s a sample list:
a.        a rock
b.    a pinecone
c.    a stick
d.    a person wearing a hat
e.    a certain kind of leaf
f.     a stop sign
g.    a truck
3)      Sidewalk chalk fun! This is an easy way to incorporate learning with outside. You can draw multiple letters or numbers and spell things out by jumping from letter to letter or play a color game like musical chairs but with specific colors.
4)      Gardening. We started this inside with a small planter but a lot of kids love playing in the dirt so why not learn a little about the growing process in the mean time? This also teaches great responsibility by having to weed and water and take care of the plants! You could even create a little fairy garden! You could also make a watering can with an old milk jug.
5)      Create an obstacle course! I actually love this one for a larger group.
6)      Have fun with shadows! Chase them, draw them, watch the way they move/appear/disappear.
7)      Make bubble paint pictures! Blowing bubbles is fun so blowing bubbles onto paper to create paintings is fun too! Just add some food coloring to the bubble solution to create colored swirls!
8)      Build a wind chime. This can be fun to use lots of recycled items like bells, jar lids, and washers to create some music with the wind.
9)      Create an outside bistro or shop for lunch! Create a menu, set a table, and have fun pretending!
10)   Make birdfeeders! You could first gather pinecones and use peanut butter or you could make popsicle ones and decorate them however you’d like! (I can’t wait to do this one!)

Sausage and Gravy Bake!

GUYS. GALS. EVERYONE. I have to tell you a recipe that you must make asap because it's one of the most delicious things I have ever made. You know those Tasty videos you see all the time on facebook and you're like "oh, hey, I could totally do that." and then you make it and you're like "what even is this." At least that's how it seems like it always is for me. Anyway, this was one of those Tasty videos and I was amazed after I made it. Legit it was so good we even ate all the leftovers and we are absolutely horrible with them. So onto the recipe!

Ingredients:
1 12-oz tube refrigerated biscuits
6 eggs1/2 cup milk1/2 tsp pepper1/2 tsp salt1 lb cooked sausage1 cup shredded cheese

For the gravy:4 Tbsp. butter4 Tbsp. floursalt & pepper to taste2 cups milk

Cut each biscuit into 8 pieces. Set aside. In a bowl, mix the eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp pepper. Set aside. In a saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper, and slowly add the 2 cups of milk. Simmer, stirring, until it’s thickened. In a greased 9x13 glass baking dish, layer the biscuits, sausage, cheese, egg mixture, and gravy. Bake at 350°F/180°C for 35-45 min, until the eggs on the bottom are cooked. Enjoy!

Recipe and video can be found on the Tasty Facebook page.
